NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation agents are hunting members of a kidnapping syndicate following the arrest of one of its leaders, a police officer, last week. PO2 Frederic Tolentino, currently assigned at the Regional Police Holding Administrative Unit in Camp Bicutan, Taguig City, fell at the hands of NBI agents after three weeks of surveillance. Confiscated from Tolentino were a .9mm caliber pistol, ammunitions and cellular phone.Tolentino allegedly abducted a Korean and demanded a P10 million ransom until the two camps reached a compromise of P4 million. It was learned that Tolentino was involved in a hostage incident involving his then live-in partner in 2011. The NBI is now looking for Tolentino’s companions, including two Japanese, two policemen and five Filipinos.
