Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Anti Illegal Drugs Division (NBI-AIDD) on Tuesday presented to the media four Indians and their Filipino cohorts accused of kidnapping a fellow Indian.
The suspects were identified as Ashwani Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Shiv Chauhan, and Matwinder Singh. The Filipinos were Albino Pique Pusos, John William Samson Lucero, Ailene Alarcio, and Ferdie Marvin.
Chaman Lal, a businessman, said he was attending to his business on June 18 in Barangay Bulihan, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite province when he was abducted. He was detained in a house in Metro Green Village in Novaliches, Quezon City for 10 days.
The suspects demanded P30 million cash in exchange for his release to his family.
Lal’s family then sought the help of NBI.
After a five-day operation that started on June 24, the suspects were arrested in separate locations in Cavite, Alabang in Muntinlupa City, Makati City, Cubao and Novaliches in Quezon City.
Lal was rescued by NBI-AIDD operatives with the assistance of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
Recovered during the rescue operation were a .45 caliber pistol, several motorcycles, motorcycle helmets and jackets, and two vehicles.
