• NCAA football resumes Jan. 10


    The second round of games of the juniors and seniors divisions of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Football Tournament will unfold on January 10 instead of the original schedule of January 7, to give way to the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila on January 9.

    Top seed San Beda College (SBC) will meet No.4 Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the first match at 8 a.m.

    The Red Cubs ended the first round with an unbeaten record of five wins and a draw while the Squires registered three wins, a draw and two losses.

    In the second game at 10 a.m., defending champion La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) will face Arellano University. LSGH finished the elimination round at second place.

    Meanwhile, San Beda will face its 2014 finals rival Lyceum of the Philippines University in the first match of the seniors division at 12 p.m.

    The Red Lions cruised through the preliminary phase of the competition with a pristine record of six straight victories.

    On the other hand, the Pirates are keen to recover from their dismal two wins and four defeats performance in the first round.

    Champion Arellano will battle College of Saint Benilde in the final game of the day. The No.3 Chiefs finished the preliminary round with four victories and two defeats while the Blazers carry a 5-1 win-loss card.
