The NCAA management committee cancelled the four basketball games scheduled
for Monday because of the heavy traffic in many parts of Metro Manila.
San Beda College was to have faced Arellano University and Emilio Aguinaldo College goes up against Mapua Institute of Technology at The Arena in San Juan City.
Dax Castellano of host College of St. Benilde and committee chairman, said the members decided to postpone the games because traffic was tied up by the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s (INC) medical missions in Manila.
“We understand the difficulties that our students and athletes may encounter going to the venue. We will advise when the postponed games will be scheduled,” said Castellano in a press release.
The postponement means extending the double round elimination beyond
Oct. 24, after which the league the Final Four playoffs begin.
The oldest collegiate league also postponed several games last month due to heavy monsoon rains.
The Red Lions, who are already assured of one of two twice-to-beat incentives with a 13-3 card, are seeking to regain share of the top spot with idle Letran, the other team with the twice-to-beat advantage with a 14-3 card.
