The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga and the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon (ATOCEL), Inc., will be holding the 2016 International Archives Congress on November 8 to 10 at Clark Freeport Pampanga.
In the past, the NCCA has invited archival experts from various countries to discuss practices, issues, and concerns in the field given national and local contexts. This year, with the theme “Archives in the ASEAN,” the Congress will gather archivists, registrars, record managers and officers, librarians, faculty, office secretaries, and members of professional associations on archives nationwide and from the ASEAN to share the best practices on archival management in the region.
This is an opportunity for participants to measure their current practices relative to global and international benchmarks, as well as to foster international cooperation in this endeavour. The Congress will have a combination of lectures and workshops from different leaders of the archival practice. There will also be exhibitions and a heritage tour for participants.
Interested participants may contact Louie Lugue or April Pabon at the NCCA’s Cultural Heritage Section at 0917-3245292, or02-5272205 and 02-5272192 ext. 324.
