The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) spearheads various public art activities in Rizal Park every weekend at 3 p.m., from May 28 until July 10.
The Arts in Public Spaces in Rizal Park started yesterday with a public chalk art demonstration at the Rizal Park Visitor Center.
Following the first salvo of activities, NCCA and NPDC will be conducting a storytelling session at the park’s Children’s Playground and Activity Center on June 4 and 5.
For Baybayin enthusiasts and tattoo lovers, a Baybayin Writing and Calligraphy Workshop and Henna Tattoo Workshop featuring Baybayin fonts will happen on June 11 and 12.
Basic silkscreen printing activity will ensue at the Senior Citizen’s Garden on June 18 and 19 followed by the Idoodle Ballpen Art activity at the Binhi ng Kalayaan Garden on June 25 and 26.
July activities will start with a Paper Origami and Pabalat Making to be conducted at the Japanese Garden on July 2 and 3.
Finally, ending the first series of “artsy weekends” line-up for Art in Public Spaces in Rizal Park is a Larong Pinoy and Kite-making Workshop set on July 9 and 10 at the Burnham Green
All these activities are open to the public and are free of charge.
