The 150th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio on November 30, founder and leader of the revolution against Spain, is approaching.
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) announces a series of commemorative events that will honor our hero’s achievements in this time of difficulty.
The overwhelming response of our people to the need for assistance is not just a fitting backdrop to but also the essence of the nation’s tribute to Bonifacio, who loved our country deeply and offered his life to build our nation.
Among the activities lined up in the week leading to the Bonifacio Day November immediately after are as follows.
November 25 to 30: Exhibit on Andres Bonifacio and the Philippine Revolution at Senate of the Philippines (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and at SM Lucena City, Quezon, (10 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
November 26 to 30: Exhibit of the winning entries of the commemorative stamp design contest at the NHCP Museo ng Katipunan, Pinaglabanan, San Juan City (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and at the NHCP, T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita, Manila.
November 26 to 27: “Pambansang kumperensya sa Kasaysayan at Historiograpiya, ‘Bonifacio@150: Dangal at Kabayanihan,’” PUP Bulwagang Balagtas
November 25 to 28: NHCP-sponsored Bonifacio lecture series at various universities: Ateneo de Davao University, November 25; University of Northern Philippines, Vigan, November 26; University of San Carlos, Cebu City, November 26; and University of the Philippines-Visayas, Iloilo City, November 28
November 29: “Bonifacio para sa Kabataan,” multi-arts educational learning activity, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; “Bonifacio Astig,” Andres Bonifacio Youtube Rap Contest Awarding Ceremonies, SM San Lazaro, Manila, 6 p.m.; and Katipunan, mga Anak ng Bayan, pop rock musical, Bonifacio High St. Central Amphitheater, Bonifacio Global City, 7 p.m.
