THE National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) is digging deeper into the case of a rookie policeman who was arrested several times by fellow policemen over extortion last week. NCRPO officer-in-charge Chief Supt. Diosdado Valeroso ordered the Regional Legal Service and Discipline, Law and Order Section to probe PO1 Jaime Jan Brian Nicabera of the Eastern Police District, who was reassigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit on July 16. Nicabera was arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for allegedly extorting money from the siblings of a man facing drug related charges. Investigation revealed that Nicabera has been penalized before with 10 administrative offenses due to simple neglect of duty and less grave neglect of duty with suspension of three days to 50 days in 2012 and 2013.
