PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed former Civil Defense director Ariel Nepomuceno as deputy commissioner of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Enforcement Group.
Nepomuceno will replace deputy commissioner for intelligence Danilo Lim, who resigned after the President admonished the agency during his annual address to the nation in July.
The Palace said Nepumoceno’s appointment was signed by the President on November 8.
Nepomuceno, a former director and executive officer of the Department of National Defense’s Office of Civil Defense, is the BOC’s sixth deputy commissioner appointed by Aquino.
Other appointees were former Armed Forces chief Gen. Jessie Dellosa as Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence group; Primo Aguas as Deputy Commissioner for Management Information Systems and Technology Group; Agaton Teodoro Uvero as Deputy Commissioner for Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group; and Director Myrna Chua of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), as deputy commissioner for the Internal Administration Group.
