President hit for insensitivity to ‘Seniang’ victims’ plight

NETIZENS blasted President Benigno Aquino 3rd for partying with celebrities while Tropical Storm Seniang (international codename: Jangmi) was pounding Western, Eastern and Central Visayas, Mimaropa (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Northern Mindanao,  Davao and Caraga.

Memes of Aquino with newly-wed actors Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera and the people affected by Seniang were circulated in the Internet, drawing negative comments from netizens.

“So mas mahalaga talaga kay penoy na dumalo sa royal wedding (talaga lang ha!) nina dingdong at marian kaysa tutukan ang nangyari sa Visayas at Mindanao dulot ni Seniang.

That’s terrific leadership! yan ang pangulo! Bravo [So it is more important for the
President to attend the royal wedding (really now!) of Dingdong and Marian than attend to what was happening in the Visayas and Mindanao reeling from Seniang. That’s terrific leadership! That’s the President. Bravo]!” said a netizen in his Facebook account.

I hope that the President filled himself up at the royal-wedding reception even as people affected by Seniang went hungry].”

In his twitter account, Tonyo Cruz said: “Bumisita sa gun store, bahay sa Boston, sa Jollibee Singapore, GGV (Gandang Gabi Vice), sa “royal wedding” pero hindi bumisita sa Tacloban [Visited a gun store, a house in Boston, Jollibee Singapore, GGV, a ‘royal wedding’ but did not visit Tacloban].”

The President is a gun enthusiast. The house he visited in Boston was the one that the Aquino family, led by his former senator-father Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino 3rd, occupied during their self-imposed exile in the United States in the late 1970s to the early 1980s when then-strongman President Ferdinand Marcos lorded it over the Philippines through martial law. In a recent trip to the city state for an Asean summit, President Aquino dropped by the store run by Filipino fast-food giant Jollibee. More recently, Aquino was interviewed on television by comedian Vice Ganda, host of the program Gandang Gabi  Vice. Tacloban City,  the capital of Leyte province, was hit the hardest by  Typhoon Yolanda in 2013, with thousands killed and thousands more displaced.

Militant youth group Anakbayan also posted memes of Aquino in “happy moments” with the celebrity couple and the typhoon victims.

Anakbayan national chairman Vencer Crisostomo lambasted the President for being insensitive for partying while some provinces are being pummeled by Seniang.

Crisostomo said Aquino, being the head of state, should have given priority to monitoring and directing the disaster-mitigating efforts instead of merrymaking.

He added that  it is condemnable to see the President having a great time while thousands of families were struggling to survive the onslaught of Seniang.

At least 54 people were reported dead, mostly from landslides and floods in the Visayas and Mindanao. Netizens criticized the government for not doing its job to prevent the high casualty count.

“Nakakagalit talaga na walang pakialam ang Pangulo sa nangyayari sa bansa at pinili pang makipagsaya sa isang kasalan [It makes me angry that the President does not care about what’s happening in the country and he even preferred joining the fun in a wedding],” Crisostomo told The Manila Times in a telephone interview.

When told that Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma had claimed that the President was monitoring Seniang during the wedding celebration, the youth leader said: “Palusot na lang nila yun. How can he monitor the devastation of Seniang eh kitang kita naman sa mga litrato na Malacañang pa ang nag release na nagsasaya si Aquino habang kahalubilo ang mga showbiz personalities [That’s just an excuse. How can he keep track of the devastation caused bySeniang when it was clear from pictures released by Malacañang itself that  he was mingling with show business personalities]?”

Crisostomo also deplored the use of taxpayers’ money for the President’s partying.

“Pera ng taong bayan ang ginastos sa pagdalo ni Aquino sa kasalang iyan. Ang mga litratong ipinost sa government website ay official Malacañang photos [The people’s money was used for the President’s attendance at the wedding. Pictures posted on the government website were official Malacañang photos],” he noted.

In 2011, the President was criticized when at the height of Typhoon Sendong (international codename: Washi) he was reported to be partying in Malacañang with actress Valerie Concepcion.

Concepcion tweeted about performing in a Palace party where Aquino was allegedly laughing at her jokes and enjoying her performance.

“Done w/ work. Tnx for having me.. :) It was nice to see Pres. P-Noy laughing at my jokes & enjoying my performance..ü #Malacañang #PSGNight,” she tweeted.

Pres. Pnoy is trying his best to help majority of Filipinos, but he cannot fix every problem to satisfy everyone. Please give Pres Pnoy a break, he has the right to live a normal life, just like all of us.

Right from the start we already knew his capabilities.

There you have the answer.

  4. The trouble with Filipino voters is that they don’t use their heads in voting into office who is honest, competent, result-oriented and with unquestionable political will. It was the “YELLOW MOBS” headed by the paid tuta of Aquinos who effectively persuaded the electorate to vote for PNOY. Now, the country suffers. In 2016 election DON’T VOTE FOR THE FOLLOWING CORRUPT candidates: Binay, Defensor, Allan Peter Cayetano, Chiz Excudero, Trillanes IV, Guingona, Koko Pimentel, and all those sitting politicians because they are all recipients of PDAF and DAP monies (pork barrel) from PNOY thru the evil efforts of Butch Abad. According to a Chinese Philosopher: “A country that is honestly govern, is something to be proud of and behold. But a country that is misgoverned is a shame!” – Confucius

The PH is presently saddled with lots of problems – the CPP-NPA, BANGSAMORO, BIFF, MNLF, cancer-like CORRUPTION in all levels of the bureaucracy, many dysfunctional government agencies manned by inutile staffs, and many others which I felt lazy anymore listing the litany of them. I hope the year 2015 would be the year of PEACE and PROSPERITY. I hope too that PH would be able to pay its huge debts of more than USD$3 trillion to the IMF and the WORLD BANK, aside from the huge debts of government owned and controlled corporations which are similarly heavily indebted to the PARIS CLUB, the financial lending arm of IMF and WORLD BANK. As a rule these government owned and controlled corporations cannot borrow huge loans from IMF or WORLD BANK thru PARIS CLUB unless the government signifies its imprimatur and guarantees the loan. So you see, does the people knows this. Corruption in the Aquino governance has many faces and replete with degrees. It depends on the taste and greed of the persons running it.

  5. Out of touch with the reality of the economic and social condition of his people. Horrible traffic, lack of jobs, dysfunctional agencies, inapplicable laws, selective prosecution, more show than substance. This sums up this administration.

  6. with the bashings that boy sisi is getting for his ‘walang pakialam’ attitude during the height of the senian’s fury, expect boy sisi to blame the pagasa forecasters and nrdmc(?) for the deaths caused by flooding and landslides. do not be surprised na pinaboran nya ang so called royal wedding (?) kesa mag monitor kasi alam natin na showbiz lang itong si boy sisi. everything he does is may pagkashowbiz.

  8. Until now PNoy believes that the Presidency is only about partying, diverting, bribing, shooting, lying, fooling, hating, etc. not about governing.

Guys, the president knows how to set his pioririties!

Don’t complain, you voted for him. You think the presidency is a joke. Hope you guys learn from him.

    Oa kayo!!

    • Then, it should have been the other way around. He should’ve sent a representative to the wedding, stayed in Malacanang, and taken the reins of crisis management during the typhoon’s onslaught.

  13. Roldan Guerrero on

So the Filipino People must very well know now what kind of President they have? Better late than never, we must move now before this man will RUIN OUR POOR COUNTRY COMPLETELY!

  14. Tandaan ninyo, huwag na huwag ninyong iboboto itong palpak na Noynoy. At lalo nanghuwag iboboto si “World-Class-Parking” Binay, tandaan ninyo!!!

    • Sobra naman ang mga batikos sa Presidente. Unang una ang responsibilidad a mga typhoon at anumang calamidad ay ang National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council. One hundred percent na naktutuk ang NDRRMC. Excerpt Associate Prss “Presidential spokesman Herminio Coloma said President Benigno Aquino III ordeed relief supplies and other assistance delivered to affected communities, many of whom were still reeling from last year’s deadly typhoon.”

Imagine getting a lunatic for a usurper president. Paano, he will call daw for “people power” if he will not win by 5 million votes. Nanakot pa. So GMA has to order Comelec chairman Melo to manufacture 5 million votes by hocus PCOS.

What he did after going to Malacanang is history. Trinaidor niya si GMA, even sent her to jail for unsubstantiated charges; exacted revenge against the Supreme Court Chief Justice who ruled against Hacienda Luisita, by bribing congressmen and senators to impeach and convict the SC-CJ Corona; manipulated to imprison his political enemies (Enrile, Revilla and Estrada) and stole the people’s money through the PDAF and the DAP, and continue to make people’s lives miserable by higher MRT/LRT fares and higher water rates, etc….. How’s that for insensitivity?

This is because by nature, he is selfish, self-centered and greedy and knows only himself and those who praise him to the high-heavens. Uto-uto kase so he loves people who tell him lies and massage his ego. And we cannot do anything except push him out of Malacanang. This is what we should focus on, if we want to ease our daily burdens and our existential sufferings.
