MAYNILAD President Ricky Vargas and business tycoon Manny Pangilinan were reelected president and chairman of the Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) on Friday at the Quezon City Sports Club. The ABAP, formerly Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines, removed the word “amateur” from its name in compliance with the directive of the International Boxing Association.

Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao was also elected to become member of the ABAP’s 17-man board of trustees. The elected officers will serve until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
