IT’s going to be another emotional rollercoaster ride as the newest U.S. fantasy drama series now airs on Philippine television via cable channel Lifetime.
At a press conference in Raffles Makati, Hollywood stars Omar Epps and Kurtwood Smith talked about their hit series that had over 13 million viewers during its stateside premiere.
Resurrection revolves around the community of Arcadia, Missouri whose lives suddenly change when their dearly departed have come back to life.
The drama unfolds when the “resurrected” return as their normal selves—with the same age and memory.
The series begins with an eight-year-old American boy named Jacob, who wakes up alone in a rural Chinese province and brought to immigration agent Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps).
“This touches the heart since it’s a family drama. It’s about what ordinary people would do in ordinary circumstances which gives an organic feeling to the whole series and to the viewers,” Epps said.
Smith, who plays Jacob’s father, opened up to the Philippine press and shared that if he could choose someone to be resurrected in real life, it would be his biological father whom he had never met.
“My real father died in World War II and we’ve never seen each other. It would be quite good to meet him, although if he returns [in the same way as the series]he’ll be 24 years old and I’d be 70. I don’t know how that will play out,” Smith ended.
Available on Sky Cable, Cable Link, and other Cable service providers, Lifetime channel premiered Resurrection on May 12. The rest of the series will air every Monday at 10 p.m.
