LOPEZ, Quezon: A proposed bypass road in this town will benefit farmers because it will be constructed near rice fields and coconut farms, according Rep. Angelina “Helen” Tan (4th District Quezon).
“Hindi drawing kundi isasakatuparan na po natin ang matagal ng pangarap ng mga taga-Lopez na isang by-pass road kung saan may inisyal nang P100 milyong pondo ang inilaan para dito,” she said.
She said the road will make it convenient for farmers to bring their produce to market.
In the presentation of the project, DPWH Quezon 4 District Engineer Rody Angulo said the proposed road will traverse eight barangays including Del Pilar, Penafrancia, Danlagan, San Roque, Canda Ilaya, Villa Hermosa and Bacongan.
From Metro Manila, the entry point is Barangay Del Pilar and its exit point will be Barangay Canda Ilaya.
Angulo said motorists will no longer have to pass through the town proper when the P421-million road is completed and thus easing traffic.
Angulo assured the barangay chairmen and other stakeholders who attended the meeting that land owners who will be affected by the project will be compensated.
