• New typhoon entering PH


    Typhoon Dindo (international name: Lionrock) has been located 1,200 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

    According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the typhoon is expected to bring moderate to heavy amount of rainfall within the 500-kilometer diameter of the weather disturbance.

    The typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

    It is forecast to move south southwest at 7 kph.

    Pagasa said there are no tropical warning signals as of posting time.

    The weather bureau, however, said, “The public and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin.” FRANCIS EARL CUETO
