A new typhoon is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility today but it will not linger in the country since it is likely to exit tomorrow, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday.
Once it enters the country, the typhoon will be named Neneng.
In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa on Thursday said the typhoon was 1,580 km east of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.
It is forecast to move west northwest at 20 kph.
