As part of unifying the south toll roads, the Manila Toll Expressway Systems Inc. (MATES) adopted a new uniform design for the traffic and security patrollers of the Skyway O&M Corporation (SOMCO). MATES patrollers now sport a gray uniform instead of what used to be light blue.
The uniform standardization of MATES and SOMCO is an operational move to further raise the level of efficiency on the Skyway System and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) by helping motorists easily identify the toll road patrollers.
MATES operates the 36-kilometer SLEX from Alabang to Calamba-Santo Tomas while SOMCO operates the 30-kilomter Skyway System from Buendia to Alabang. SLEX and Skyway System patrollers are on duty 24/7 to keep the toll roads safe and convenient for motorists who are reminded to observe the minimum speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour for all vehicles, maximum 80 kph for trucks and buses, and 100 kph for cars, jeeps and Class 1 vehicles.
For traffic updates, motorists may follow MATES twitter account @OfficialSLEX and Skyway twitter account @SkywaySOMCO or call the SLEX hotline 0917-OUR-SLEX (687-7539) and Skyway hotline 776-7777 to request for assistance or to report any unusual incident.
