Transportation-related infrastructure that enhances connectivity and interconnectivity should be the next administration’s priority, Cosette Canilao, the public-private partnership’s (PPP) chief said on Thursday.
With just five months left before the Aquino administration’s term ends, Canilao said the next administration must consider prioritizing transport infrastructures amid the problematic transportation system in Metro Manila.
“[Focus] more on the transport side and connectivity, increasing interconnectivity between islands,” Canilao said.
Airports, rail and subways are among the most important projects that need to be addressed, Canilao said.
She said it is important to decongest Metro Manila, at the same time preventing other urban areas like Cebu from suffering the same congestion problem.
So far, five transportation infrastructure PPPs have been awarded, including the Mac tan-Cebu International Airport and the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension.
