DAVAO CITY: Typhoon Ruby forced the National Golf Association of the Phils. (NGAP) to postpone the 2014 Mindanao Regional Golf Tournament of the PLDT Group National Amateur Golf Tour slated on December 8-12 at the Apo Golf and Country Club here.
“Sorry to inform you that the Mindanao regional golf tournament will be postponed indefinitely due to the incoming storm,” said NGAP secretary-general Pepot Inigo in his email mesage.
Inigo added, “We will communicate with you for further developments. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
The tournament is conducted by NGAP and presented by the PLDT Group and MVP Sports Foundation.
The first 50 amateurs aging 30 years old and above will also be accepted in the Mid-Amateur Division while the first 30 Seniors golfers aged 55 yearss and above as of December 9 will be accepted.
Only the top 16 for the men’s and mid-amatuer, top 8 for women’s and Seniors will advance to the Match Play competition.. Ties for the 16th place for men and mid-amateur, 8th place for women and seniors will be determined via sudden death playoff.
