NHA lauds Mlang town for IP housing

COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao: The National Housing Authority (NHA) has recognized the town of Mlang in North Cotabato for its successful implementation of a housing project intended for the indigenous people (IP) particularly the Blaan tribal people.

The housing project brought honor to the local government and its citizens, Mlang Mayor Joselito Piñol said on Wednesday.

President Benigno Aquino 3rd handed the plaque of recognition during the recent NHA anniversary program in Manila.

Piñol, the younger brother of former North Cotabato governor Manny Piñol, said the successful implementation of the housing project for indigenous people was a joint effort of all stakeholders.

Twenty-five of the 50 housing projects have been completed and turned over to the beneficiaries.

The project is located in a three-hectare lot in Sitio Biao, Barangay New Esperanza, Mlang, North Cotabato while construction of the remaining 25 units is expected to be completed by December.
