No CBCP award for ‘AlDub’

THE Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is not granting an award to the actors behind the famous “Aldub’ love team in the popular noontime TV show, Eat Bulaga.

CBCP president and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas made the clarification on Wednesday in reaction to erroneous reports that the CBCP is giving out an award.

“It is not so.Neither the Permanent Council of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines nor its arm the Episcopal Commission for Social Communications is involved in this award bestowal,” said Villegas.

The prelate pointed out that it is the Catholic Social Media Summit (CSMS), a project of a lay youth group, that is giving the award.

“While the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines encourages such lay initiatives among so many others, it is not factually accurate to attribute all their initiatives and activities to the CBCP,” Villegas clarified.

Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza of “AlDub Kalyeserye” are among the recipients of the awards during the 4th CSMS in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on October 10 to 11.

The CSMS recognized the famous love team for propagating values.

Mon Bandril of the CSMS’ awards organizing committee said the show deserves recognition because of the “inspiring message” it gives on virtues, values, chivalry, modesty, morality, respect for elders, among others.

“This is the kind [of show]that we don’t see on TV anymore,” Bandril said.

Also receiving the award are comedian Wally Bayola and TAPE Productions, which produces the noontime show Eat Bulaga.

  1. Let us all be happy for the ALDUB phenomenal loveteam and the rest of the KALYESERYE team. ABS-CBN shows that you mentioned will also get their piece of award sa “TAMANG PANAHON”.

“This is the kind [of show] that we don’t see on TV anymore,” Bandril said.

—So Nathaniel, May Bukas Pa, Dream Dad, Ningning of ABS-CBN is not the kind of show that portrays morality among people? ONLY THE ALDUB???

    • yan kasi..nakacenter lang ang kanilang attention sa world aldub..not seeing na maymas maganda pang shows na totoong nagbibigay ng magandang lesson sa bawat manonood

  3. what values?
    crossdressing?
acting homo and flirting with bodyguards?
being to centered on one’s love life?
    seriously?

i couldn’t even forget wally bayola’s sex vid and now they’re giving them an award for spreading good filipino values?
    seriously?

    • 89 – it is not cross dressing kung lalawakan mo ang isip mo.. They are portraying as LOLA’s they didn’t act as Gay.

And seriously? Sex video ni wally ang iniisip mo luma na yan… napatawad na bumawi nagbago at ngaun nagspread ng Love and Good morals sa lahat ng manonood I dont think nanonood ka ng kalyeserye kaya ung utak mo and the way you understand the story line is baliko…. ^_^

    • Seriously, are you blind? So, what do you call the “pag mano sa nakaka tanda”, love and value for the family, proper courtship before going to a relationship, respect for elders, etc etc? If they aren’t moral values to you then I don’t know what kind of values you have.

What’s wrong in cross dressing? FYI, EB’s Kalyeserye isn’t a reality show. They portray characters much like in a soap opera. And comedy is the majority part of their acting.

Wally is being awarded because of his character, Lola Nidora, who plays an important role in spreading good values. His personal life has nothing to do with it. Besides, even if he had done a sin in the past, it doesn’t mean he can’t change and regain himself. Who are you to judge?
