No Christmas party for MMDA personnel

THE METRO Manila Development Authority is canceling its Christmas party this year and will instead pour its funds to rehabilitate areas devastated by super typhoon “Yolanda.”

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said the money to be saved will be donated to the
typhoon victims.

Besides canceling its Christmas party, the MMDA will also conduct a gift-giving activity to the victims of the typhoon in Palo, Leyte on December 19.

MMDA General Manager Corazon Jimenez earlier said that MMDA employees have been donating a small portion of their salary for the victims of the typhoon.

The agency also launched a relief drive to help the survivors.

“Even the children of some of our employees are donating their piggy bank for the victims of the calamity,” she added.

MMDA personnel also went to Tacloban City to help clear streets from typhoon debris.
