Rep. Gerald Anthony Gullas (Cebu, first district) has urged the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to prevent traffic jams on the road-widening project from the cities of Naga to Carcar in southern Cebu. A century-old acacia free fell down Friday night on the national highway in Barangay Tinaan in Naga City, causing a massive traffic jam and stalling hundreds of commuters, including Gullas, for six hours. Gullas said he was able to talk to DPWH Second Engineering District chief Daisy Toledo and urged her to order the project subcontractor, AR Adlawan, to put up measures in case such incident would happen again.
