Southeast Asian Games Task Force for Philippines Chief of Mission Cynthia Carrion gave Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) until Tuesday afternoon to submit its official lineup for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games on August 19 to 30 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Carrion, also the Gymnastic Association of the Philippines president, said they extended the deadline from June 23 to June 27 for basketball since Gilas Pilipinas national coach Chot Reyes hasn’t decided yet regarding the composition of the team.

“The last deadline for basketball line-up will be on the 27th of June and there will be no more extension,” Carrion told The Manila Times on Sunday.

“They should submit it on that day because we will decode it before submitting it on the 30th to the Malaysia SEAG organizer,” she added.

Carrion is hopeful that the SBP will comply on the deadline.

“We’re working for two weeks for other sports but we gave them (basketball) the extension because they haven’t decided yet. Anyway, I trust them that they will submit their line-up on time,” she said.

Deputy Gilas Pilipinas coach Jong Uichico said Reyes will beat the deadline on Tuesday.

“I’m sure we can come up with a line-up if that’s the given deadline. It is up to Chot (Reyes) and Butch (Antonio) to submit and announce the line-up,” said Uichico.

Gilas will resume training on Tuesday at the Meralco gym.
