ILOILO CITY: The association of restaurants and fun centers in Smallville complex in Mandurriao district here is poised to declare the five-hectare area as a “No Firearm Zone”. Jim Velez, association president, said they are cooperating with the city police office to keep the complex peaceful and free from armed men patronizing the complex especially at night. The complex is a recognized fun haven of the city with several game centers and amenities such as swimming pools, specialty restaurants, family gaming, specialty shops, hotels, and video and music bars. Velez owns the bar where businessman Tommy Robiso was gunned down last November 19 by an asset of the National Bureau of Investigation Region 6 named Mark Blancaflor. The suspect remained at large. A security meeting was held between Iloilo City Police Office chief Senior Supt. Kashmir Disomangcop and operators of Smallville establishments to draw the line of security at the complex.
