SAN JOSE, Antique: There’s no hoarding of rice in Antique, said National Food Authority Provincial Manager Hedy Jardeleza. “There’s no reason for Antiqueños to worry. There’s enough rice in the province and there’s no hoarding by any of the rice traders here. The shipment of some rice traders of their stocks to Iloilo City, Bacolod City or elsewhere remain normal,” Jardeleza said. “We are constantly monitoring the movement of rice in the province. We have records of their shipment. In fact, these rice traders are our partners,” she stressed adding that slight increase in the price of rice in Antique is expected because of the increase on prices of rice in other parts of the country.
