• No Pinoy casualties in Taiwan crash

No Filipino died in the ill-fated TransAsia Airlines flight that crashed in Taiwan and killed more than 40 people onboard, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday. Charles Jose, Foreign Affairs spokesman, said in a text message that the Philippine representative in Taiwan already confirmed “that there are no Filipinos” on board the TransAsia plane that crashed in Taiwan on Wednesday night. Reports said the TransAsia Airways passenger plane was trying to make an emergency landing in typhoon-hit Taiwan when it crashed into houses near the Magong airport on the Penghu island chain.
