No security threats for King Carl XVI visit in Tacloban City


The Samar-based 8th Infantry Division on Friday announced that no security threats has been detected for the Tacloban City visit of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on Sunday.

This was disclosed by Capt. Amado Gutierrez, the unit’s spokesperson.

“We are still to detect any security threats for the visit of King Carl XVI,” he said.

However, Gutierrez said that they will still beef up the security measures to ensure that no untoward incident will transpire during this visit.

Security contingents will be deployed on areas where King Carl XVI will visit.

The king is scheduled to visit Leyte National High School, San Fernando Central School in Tacloban City and Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) building in Leyte.

He is expected to interact with members of the BSP before attending a luncheon reception at the Leyte Park Hotel. PNA
