THE newly installed officer in charge of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Chief Supt. Victor Deona, gave an assurance on Friday to officers and personnel of the unit that there will be no changes in the agency. Deona replaced Benjamin Magalong last Tuesday following a reshuffle of seven senior police officials to various offices and units of the 160,000-strong police force. Magalong who handled the CIDG for more than two years, is the new head of the PNP Directorate for Investigative and Detective Management. Magalong headed the PNP Board of Inquiry that investigated the Mamasapano armed encounter wherein 44 Special Action Force were killed.
