ILOILO CITY: Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog here has reiterated his order strictly enforce the anti-smoking and anti-littering ordinances even during the celebration highlights of Dinagyang Festival this week. Members of the Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force (ICAST) are preparing for a wide and sweeping implementation, as it reminded every smoker of the fines, which ranged from P500 to P1,500, and the penalty of community service. Those who litter may also be fined P500 to P1,000. Mabilog said smokers are not allowed to smoke anywhere within the Dinagyang parade route. The same proviso applies to littering. The government expects an additional 150 metric tons of solid waste after the celebrations.
