The Nomads FC girls team clobbered the Forza FC squad, 2-0, to bag the the Under-17 United Football League (UFL) Youth title on Sunday at the University of Makati Football Field.
Both squads engaged in a fierce exchange of blows in the initial minutes of the affair with Forza aggressively pounding their foes’ back-line in hopes of clinching the opening goal.
De La Salle-Zobel striker Alisha Del Campo led the raids of Forza in the territory of Nomads in the opening salvo but was unable to convert her chances.
Former Under-14 national team star Joyce Semacio notched the first goal of the game – a finish on the top left corner of the goal in the 29th minute.
Forza dug deep in search of a reply but were stopped on their tracks in the 80th minute following a shot by Sophia Akillan, which placed Nomads in a comfortable two-goal lead before the end of regulation.
Nomads standout Annika Velez was named as the golden ball winner of the Under-17 girls division.
Meanwhile, Laos FC scored a 2-1 victory over the feisty Nomads FC in the Under-13 category of the UFL Youth 2016 tilt. Laos’ Dov Carino was awarded the golden ball trophy in their age group.
Kaya FC snatched the cup championship of the Under-9 division following its 5-2 triumph over Agila MSA FC while Forza FC grabbed the plate in the same level at the expense of Stallion FC, 3-1.
Pasargad FC U11 crew won the cup in the mixed Under-11 class with a rout of Stallion FC, 5-0, while Nomads FC caught the plate trophy against Agila MSA FC, 5-4.
Green Archers United FC secured the plate victory in the Under-13 division after trouncing Kaya FC, 3-2, at the Alabang Country Club on Saturday.
