NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS SERVED IN THE PREVIOUS POLLS UP – LENTE

An election citizen organization revealed on Wednesday that a high number of non-public school teachers had rendered to serve in the October 28, 2013 barangay elections. In a case study presented by the Lente, in partnership with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), it reveals that 70 percent of the 270 election officers interviewed said they appointed non-public school teachers to render election services due to shortage of public school teachers. Out of the 270 respondents, 137 said that they prompted to appoint non-public school teachers to serve in the elections because of the shortage of the teachers.
