The ever-politically involved Superstar of Philippine Movies Nora Aunor has long declared her support for presidential candidate Grace Poe, daughter of the late King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr. and the reigning Queen, Susan Roces.

As election day draws closer, the Superstar seems to be stepping up her endorsement as well by talking about her personal reasons for choosing the showbiz scion among the four other candidates running for the highest post in the land.

The multi-awarded actress who was controversially denied the National Artist award by the Aquino government pointed out that among the candidates, only the independent candidate has specifically talked about programs for the movie industry, painters, writers, actors and dancers throughout the campaign.

Among Poe’s programs for arts and culture are directed towards cultural heritage conservation, additional budget allocation for the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts, the implementation of copyright protection, and funding for the restoration of classic movies now considered cultural treasures.
