• Northeast monsoon, trough of LPA to bring light rains over PH

<< BacExpect cloudy skies with light to moderate rains in several parts of the country due to the northeast monsoon affecting extreme Northern Luzon, while the trough of a Low Pressure Area will affect Southern Mindanao, the state weather bureau said on Tuesday. In its advisory, PAGASA said that Zamboanga Peninsula, the provinces of Samar, Leyte, Palawan, Aurora, Quezon and the regions of Cagayan Valley and Bicol will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. It added the regions of Cordillera and Ilocos will be cloudy with light rains while the rest of the country including Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. PAGASA said that moderate to strong winds blowing from the southeast to northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. PAGASA also said the strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon will affect the northern seaboard of northern Luzon. "Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are warned against venturing out to sea, while larger sea vessels should be prepared for heavy seas," it said. PNA
