WASHINGTON, D.C.: Northrop Grumman beat out Boeing and Lockheed Martin on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) to win a multibillion-dollar contract to build America’s next generation of long-distance bombers.
The award, valued at more than $55 billion, will see the creation of up to 100 strategic bombers to replace America’s aging fleet of B-52 and B-1 planes.
