Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle imparted this message to the millions of devotees of the Black Nazarene in his homily during a midnight mass held at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park before the start of the Traslacion on Monday

Tagle called on the faithful not to judge anybody because no one is exempted from committing mistakes.
He encouraged the faithful to help the downtrodden.

“Kapag merong tao [na]natutukso huwag nating huhusgahan na [tayo’y] nagmamalinis na hinihiwalay ang sarili, sa halip alalahanin na tayo ay natutukso din at kung sya ay natutukso siguro kami ang dapat magtulungan (Let’s not judge those people who are tempted by presuming that we are clean and different from them. We should remember that we are also sinners and we should instead help each other),” the Cardinal added.

He stressed that even Jesus Christ associated himself with sinners when he was baptized and by becoming a human. Christ’s love for the people, he pointed out, is unconditional and encompassing, regardless of one’s status in life.

“This is the kind of love that we should embrace, including the weak and the sinners, instead of looking down, prejudging and distancing from them,” Tagle said.

  1. Cardinal Tagle, please share with your community, the CPCP, this lecture of yours.
Your sector has judged openly PRRD during the campaign. Six months in office and has proved efficient and effective, have your criticisms about him changed for the better?
Just one case in point: the drug war.
How you pity the criminals being killed…..but don’t pity the innocents being raped-slayed, robbed, etc by drug addicts for six years (2010-2016). Don’t you pity also these addicts’ mothers who are hurt the most? And how come addiction flourished. Because drug lords must sell more, sell more, sell more drugs for an ambitious, congenital liar of a woman.
Has the church say a word of adultery about this adulterous bikini-wearing executive. On TV she said that her lover was a separated husband (who was not) and was hiding for threats to his life (no threats but she advised him to hide). Truths that were disclosed when the lover showed up. How must the church play its spiritual role in curbing down this drug menace, not an iota of political role. The Christ barked at Temple masters (spiritual sector) not at government when He replied to his detractors, “Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to Elohim what is Elohim’s.” In this same vein, please, Cardinal, mind the spiritual domain of us Filipinos, not our socio-political sphere. Salamat po.

  2. Kaya pala noong election kulang na lang sabihin ng mga kaparian na demonyo si digong. Wag husgahan ang kapwa, kaya pala yong ikinakampanya ng mga kaparian natalo, meaning di lahat sumusunod sa kanila.
