Not totally zero crime during mega fight

EXCEPT for two gun-related incidents, the Philippine National Police
(PNP) said no other crimes were recorded all over the country during the Manny Pacquaio-Floyd Mayweather Jr. “Fight of the Century” on Sunday (Saturday in Las Vegas).

Senior Supt. Bartolome Tobias, PNP spokesman, said there were no major untoward incidents between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. of Sunday.

“Elsewhere in the country, the PNP monitored two separate gun-related incidents during the same period today [Sunday],” Tobias added.

He was referring to the killing of one Ronnel Villarosa who was shot by an unidentified man in Barangay Pantay Bata, Tanauan City, Batangas, around 10:45 a.m.

The PNP National Operations Center based in Camp Crame, Quezon City (Metro Manila) said that almost at the same time, Julia Isagon de la Pena was hit by a stray bullet while in the terrace of her house in Santa Cruz, Laguna.

The victim was brought to an undisclosed hospital.
“Other regions reported normal situation,” Tobias said.
