La Trinidad, Benguet: A joint team from the Intelligence and Patrol Police offices in the Cordillera region arrested a young gang leader, who is wanted for a string of robbery, gun and drug smuggling, theft and carnapping cases in Kalinga and nearby provinces. Cordillera Police Director Isagani Nerez identified the suspect as Mar Ambasing, 27, a native of Tabuk, Kalinga province and a resident of Taguig City. Ambasing is among the Top 10 most wanted criminals in Cordillera last year. Kalinga Regional Trial Court Judge Marcelino Wacas earlier ordered the Philippine National Police to launch a manhunt against Ambasing. He also set a bail bond of P1.3 million. Nerez commended members of the Regional, Kalinga and the Provincial Police Intelligence Divisions and the Highway Patrol Group for their efforts in tracking Ambasing to his hideout.
