NPA sub-leader captured in Cotabato

SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao: The Philippine Army and Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday arrested an alleged New People’s Army (NPA) sub-leader in Makilala, North Cotabato and seized guns and bomb-making materials. Colonel Roberto Angcan, commander of the 102nd Infantry Brigade, said the raid on the house of Ariel Rebuta by the Army’s 39th Infantry Battalion in Purok 3, Barangay Biangan yielded three M-16 Armalite rifles, electrical cords, ammonium nitrate use for bomb-making, seven mobile phones and 1,500 pieces M-16 rifle bullets. Rebuta, alias “Suring,” is detained at Makilala PNP detention cell and facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
