THE Nationalist Peoples Coalition (NPC) headed by business tycoon Eduardo Murphy “Danding” Cojuangco has named another spokesperson for the party, a party official said Saturday.
In a statement, NPC spokesperson and Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian announced that he will be sharing spokesperson duties with Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga.
Gatchalian said that he will be in charge of NPC’s policies, thrusts and programs, while Enverga will take care of issues concerning NPC members who are members of the House of Representatives.
“What Cong Enverga brings to the table is years of experience and knowledge as a lawmaker who commands great respect from among his peers and constituents. It would surely be a great partnership and we are looking forward towards further strengthening the position of the NPC as one of the biggest and most influential political parties in the country,” Gatchalian pointed out.
There are 42 NPC members in the House of Representatives.
“I am confident that Enverga would be a big help in effectively bringing our party’s stand on issues of national significance as well as its objectives and plans in future political exercises,” Gatchalian added.
The 35-year-old Enverga, who won his third term in the last May polls, served as the Vice Chairman of House Economic Affairs Committee.
In addition, Enverga was also a member of the House panels on Appropriations, Higher and Technical Education, Information and Communications Technology, Public Works and Highways, Reforestation, Rural Development and Youth and Sports Development.
