• NSA chief to retire next year


    WASHINGTON, D.C.: National Security Agency (NSA) chief Gen. Keith Alexander plans to retire next year but his departure is not connected to leaks from former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden. Alexander has presided over an expansion of the powerful spy agency over the past eight years while facing intense criticism in the wake of Snowden’s disclosures, which exposed the agency’s electronic spying efforts.
