INCHEON, South Korea: Olympic Council of Asia President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah threw out another pitch on behalf of baseball and softball, saying he expects his fellow International Olympic Committee members to support their return to the Olympic program. “I think the IOC will always follow the benefit of the Games,” Sheikh Ahmad told Kyodo News on Saturday ahead of the closing ceremony of the Asian Games. The competition finished with its 439th and last gold medal given out Saturday afternoon, with Japanese swimmer Kosuke Hagino named the Asian Games MVP. Baseball was won in the Asiad by host South Korea, which beat Taiwan 6-3 in the final. Japan won bronze over China.
