Odicta’s man surrenders for murder

ILOILO CITY: The right-hand man of slain alleged drug lord Melvin Odicta Sr. surrendered on Tuesday for a murder that he committed 12 years ago in this city. Jesus “Jingjing” Espinosa was sentenced to 12 years in jail but his imprisonment at the New Bilibid Prisons was not immediately carried out owing to some technicalities, according to his lawyer Gualberto Cataluña. Espinosa, a councilman of Barangay Monica Blumenttrit, was served a search warrant on Monday for drugs but fled and his family surrendered him to face the murder conviction. He maintained that he is not into illegal drugs although the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency tagged him as a high-value target, being a close associate of Odicta. He was also identified as one of Odicta’s companions who tried to break into dyOK Aksyon Radyo Iloilo on November 19, 2015.
