PILAR, Bataan: The town government has launched the newest outdoor adventure package in Luzon with the introduction of a Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV) and All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) for rent to those who wanted to explore Mount Samat and its environs. Mount Samat is a historic site, it being a witness to the struggles and deaths of both Filipino and American soldiers who fought the advancing Japanese troops during World War 2. Pilar Mayor Alice Pizarro said the four-kilometer route is a simple trail for beginners where on top of the hill, a giant War Memorial Cross and the scenic Dunsulan Falls are clearly seen. She added that the off-road thrill project is considered the first and the only one in Central Luzon. Pizarro added that although the project is privately funded and owned, it can give a boost to the town’s tourism efforts. She added that the idea to partner with a private group in introducing an adventure package came after their visit to Mount Mayon.
