Oil companies hike pump prices anew

AT least two oil companies opened the yuletide season by implementing an across-the-board oil price hike by more than a peso.

In its advisory late Monday evening, Pilipinas Shell and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines would raise the price of diesel by P 1.35 per liter, kerosene by P1.20 per liter and gasoline byP.35 per liter.

The jacking up of prices would take effect tomorrow (Tuesday, December 3) by 6:00AM.

Shell clarified that the said price hike would not take place in Bohol, Capiz, Aklan, Samar and Leyte.

Phoenix is also set fo implement the same price hike on diesel and gasoline, but drawing the line on stations in Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, and Leyte.

Phoenix stated that the adjustments reflects “the movements in the prices of refined petroleum products in the international market.”

As of press time, other oil firms have yet to announced their respective adjustments. RUBEN MANAHAN 4TH
