Oil firms cut pump prices once more

FOR the fourth time since September, oil companies are set to roll back their respective fuel prices once again effective Tuesday.

Pilipinas Shell Corp., Petron Corp., Chevron (Caltex), PTT Phils., Phoenix Petroleum and Seaoil will cut gasoline prices by 35 centavos per liter, and by 20 centavos per liter for diesel.

There is no change announced for kerosene prices.

The oil firms will implement their respective price adjustments from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. on October 28 (Tuesday).

For the month of October, the oil companies have already slashed a total of P3.15 per liter for diesel.

Meanwhile, the big rollback in fuel prices prompted the National Council for Commuter Protection to ask the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board for a jeepney fare reduction. RITCHIE A. HORARIO
