AROUND 8,000 talents are needed to fill up casino and hotel-related jobs for the biggest integrated casino and resort facilities, Okada Manila. Owned by Japanese casino mogul Kazuo Okada, the 44-hectare gaming and leisure facilities will be launched in November in the sprawling Pagcor-Entertainment City along the reclaimed bay area in Parañaque City. Okada Manila will be the third integrated resort casino that will open in Entertainment City after Bloomberry Resort Corporation’s Solaire Resort & Casino opened in March 2013 and Melco Crown Entertainment’s City of Dreams, formally opened in February last year. Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. is planning to open Bayshore City Resorts World in phases starting in 2019. Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment Inc. disclosed that it has already received 15,000 job applicants five months before the opening of Okada. The casino will be needing hundreds of card dealers since it will house more than 500 table games, 3,000 electronic gaming machines and a Sky Casino catering to VIP guests. The local government is requiring local or foreign companies “to hire at least 20 percent of their employees from the pool of local applicants.” This means that Parañaque residents should fill up the 1,600 of 8,000 job vacancies in Okada.
