The just concluded Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Manila was the centerpiece for the launch of Sky Cable Corporation’s “Sky On Demand” service at ABS-CBN’s headquarters in Quezon City.
Held on November 24 through an actual demonstration, the multi-screen online video service had the provider’s APEC live channel right in the middle, which, with a simple click on the On Demand Digibox, allowed playbacks of the summit’s most important proceedings, as well as such highlights as the arrival of US President Barack Obama, and of course Mexican President Enrique Nieto and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The same of course can be done for a wide variety of entertainment picks, both locally and direct from Hollywood. Among the roster of live TV channels are ABS-CBN HD for telserye catch-up, AXN, Asian Food Channel, Basketball TV, Disney Channel, History, Nickelodeon, Sony, HGTV, Warner TV and RTL-CBS Entertainment, among others.
Meanwhile, the service’s premium pack offers a collection of classic and popular movies from Star Cinema, Paramount Pictures, NBC-Universal, Regal Films, and Viva Films such as Star Trek, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, How To Train Your Dragon, One More Chance, Four Sisters and a Wedding, and 24/7 In Love.
An upgrade for current subscribers is necessary to stream these on demand programs onto TVs, computers, smartphones, and tablets. SKY Cable Corporation is a cable and broadband company of ABS-CBN.
