One person was killed and seven others were injured when a helicopter crash landed at Mount Macolot in Cuenca, Batangas, at around 11 am on Sunday.
The lone fatality was identified as Archimedes King, owner of the Victoria Court motel chain, who died while being treated at the hospital where the victims were rushed.
The chopper, an Agusta 109E with registry RP-C2726 and piloted by Captain Felisisimo Taborlupa, was operated by Malate Tourist Development Corporation and based at the general aviation area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Reports reaching the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the helicopter, which came from Puerto Galera in Mindoro, left for Manila on Sunday morning carrying eight passengers.
CAAP could not immediately confirm the cause of the crash but are also looking the bad weather condition in Batangas as one factor.
