CHINESE smartphone manufacturer OnePlus released in the Philippines on Thursday the latest model in its flagship series, OnePlus 5, through its exclusive partnership with local technology distributor Digital Walker.
“Coming from the success of OnePlus 3T that is officially sold out, we expect OnePlus 5 to better the
performance with its offered specs,” Jonathan Marco Grajo, public relations officer of Digits Trading Corporation, told The Manila Times.
Grajo said the new product features a dual camera–20-megapixel (MP) rear camera and 16 MP front — for in-depth photos with the capability to capture low-light shots aside from lightning-quick auto-focus technology.
It also has a patented Dash Charge that is “faster, safer, and cooler,” providing a day’s power in half an hour of charging. The unit is made from a single block of aluminium alloy and has a Gorilla Glass 5 screen, assuring it can survive shoulder-height drops.
Asked about their target market, Grajo said, “The OnePlus5 has mixed followers, like people who look for a device that has all the competitive specs, but with an affordable price, and the people who already knew that OnePlus really delivers quality products that’s why they always look forward to the latest release of the brand.”
OnePlus 5 is now available at Digital Walker branches although Grajo mentioned that the company is planning to expand its business infrastructure to reach a wider consumer base.
“We’re also thinking of putting OnePlus 5 in other stores like SM, Ayala Malls, Landmark, and other tech stores,” he said.
