In time for the graduating batch of 2014 who will soon be on the lookout for employment, online job site JobStreet.com launched an advanced feature to its mobile operation, which allows users to update resumes right from their smartphones.
The job site presently caters to 12 million users in the Philippines who are becoming increasingly mobile savvy, and this latest enhancement complements the application’s existing features, which allow candidates to receive personalized job alerts with salary matching, refine job searches, identified preferred job locations, and submit applications online.
The new Resume Update feature is currently available in iOS for iPhones, with versions for Android devices in the pipeline.
Candidates should make sure their resumes are updated since many companies directly search for resumes in the database for relevant talent.
According to JobStreet.com, typically more than 390,000 resumes in its database are viewed by recruiters during peak hiring season, which falls on the first half of the year.
The JobStreet.com mobile app was launched in 2010, and has since seen more than 1.4 million downloads and usage that continues to increase rapidly as the country’s smartphone adoption grows. More usage is expected what with a new batch of college graduates joining the workforce in the coming months.
